Inaugural Presentation of new Operational Service Medal - the NZOSM

The recipients enter the Grand Hall. The first four veterans carry the hats of remembrance. They are: Mr Colin Fraser (ex-RNZAF - Second Word War, J Force, and the Berlin Airlift), Mr Trevor Dean (ex-NZ Army - Malayan Emergency), Mr Brian Sadd (ex-RNZN - Korea, Malayan Emergency, and Suez in 1956), and Retired Superintendent Paul Mears (NZ Police - United Nations Force in Cyprus between July 1965 and July 1966).

Thoughtful reflection by attendees at the ceremony, including Sergeant Craig Pitman RNZAF, Mr Colin Fraser (ex-RNZAF - Second Word War, J Force, and the Berlin Airlift), and Mr Trevor Dean (ex-NZ Army - Malayan Emergency). Mr Fraser and Mr Dean were also among the 16 recipients of the NZOSM at this inaugural presentation.

Mr James Campbell, son of Sergeant Graham Campbell, who was killed in action in South Vietnam on 14 January 1970, speaking. Mr Campbell accepted the NZOSM earnt by his father.
